How to root Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Step 1: This tutorial will wipe all your data so back up all your data like SMS, contacts, APN settings. For SMS will need “SMS Backup and Restore app”. Then Backup your contacts by using Sync with Gmail app. To backup your phone logs use “Call log and restore app”. Then take Backup of your APN settings. Go to Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names and note down.
Step 2- You need to enable USB debugging for that go to “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” . And also make sure that your battery is charged upto 50% for not having any interruption in rooting process.
Step 3- Then note down the current ROM version from “Settings > About Device > Firmware Version” because when you unroot you can apply same update.
Step 4- Then you need to switch of your Galaxy Note 10.1 and go to download mode by pressing volume Down + Power button together till the device enter to download mode.
Step 5- Then connect your Galaxy Note 10.1 to the computer with USB cable which id provided in the box.
Step 6- Download Odin along with appropriate rooting package:
Step 7- After downloading the above files and extract it, then open Odin in your computer and connect your device to computer via USB cable.
Step 8- Then click on the PDA button in odin and select the tar file which you got after extracting the above firmware root package. After selecting it will take around 4-5 minutes for applying the same. Then after applying the firmware successfully it will take around 5 minutes to boot for the first time.
